As a fourth generation farmer with a career off the farm, GrainCoat founder Sean Arians is all too familiar with the time challenges faced by today’s operations. And like many of his fellow farmers, Sean finds it hard to make time to focus on marketing even when opportunities arise. Yet, marketing remains an important, although time-intensive part of his operation.
Looking for a way to save time and always have his information available, Sean set out to find an app that helped him manage current and future inventory, contracts and delivery schedules. Unfortunately, Sean came up short when it came to weighing his options. Some apps were just too complicated and gave him more than he needed for a premium price, others didn’t provide enough functionality to make it worth any cost. So, Sean set out to create the right product for his operation.
GrainCoat is meant to provide a simple, yet effective way for farmers to manage their grain marketing decisions. It’s simply what a farmer needs to organize information and do away with excel sheets or hand-written notes. And, it’s priced to do just that.
Knowing each farm is unique, Sean discussed and tested GrainCoat with farmers from across the country, making tweaks and updates along the way. He’s looking forward to continuing to integrate technology solutions to ease data entry, add API partners, and expand the product.
